About First-Rate Surveys

Cars are parked along the street, and a tall utility pole with multiple wires is visible against a clear blue sky with scattered clouds. Houses are seen on both sides of the street.

Built on Experience. Focused on Surveying.

Over 12 years of surveying and planning experience, with 17 years of expertise developed in telecommunications and applied across renewable energy and fibre infrastructure.

Built On Experience. Focused On Quality.

First-Rate Surveys is an independent surveying business providing professional site surveys across two specialist areas Renewable Energy and Fibre Infrastructure.

Founded by Connor Jones, the business is built on 17 years of experience within the telecommunications industry, including 12 years specialising in fibre surveying and planning.

During that time, we have supported major Openreach fibre deployment programmes including Project Falcon, Project Gecko and Project Gigabit, providing accurate survey information used to support the planning and delivery of network infrastructure.

That experience has shaped the way we approach every survey: understand the site, capture the right information, identify potential constraints and present the findings clearly.

Today, First-Rate Surveys brings that same survey-led approach to residential and commercial renewable energy, providing independent property surveys for EV Charging, Solar PV and Battery Storage.

Our renewable energy surveying service has been developed through dedicated renewable energy survey training, combining new specialist knowledge with years of practical surveying experience.

Whether we're surveying a residential property for renewable energy or supporting a major fibre infrastructure programme, our approach remains the same accurate, thorough and professional surveying from start to finish.

Two Areas of Surveying Expertise.

Fibre Infrastructure

Professional fibre surveying and planning support for contractors and network providers across the UK.

With extensive experience across Openreach infrastructure and major fibre deployment programmes, we provide accurate, build-ready survey information designed to identify potential issues before construction begins.

Parked cars line both sides of the street, and houses with tiled roofs are visible in the background. A tall utility pole with power lines is prominent in the scene, set against a bright blue sky with some scattered clouds.

Renewable Energy

Independent residential and commercial property surveys for EV Charging, Solar PV and Battery Storage.

We assess and document the property, existing infrastructure, energy requirements and relevant site conditions to provide clear survey information that can be taken forward when considering a renewable energy system.

The house features a black garage door, multiple green and brown waste bins, and a street sign that reads 'ROAD'. A bush is in front of the house, and there is a chimney with smoke coming from it.

Our Approach: Survey. Record. Report.

We believe a good survey should provide more than a collection of measurements.

Every First-Rate Surveys project follows a clear process.

Survey — We assess the property or site and gather the information relevant to the survey.

Record — Measurements, observations and photographic evidence are captured clearly and consistently.

A person in an orange safety vest is taking a photo of a wooden utility pole with electrical wires on a residential street under a blue sky with some clouds.

Report — The information is presented in a professional survey report, giving our customers a clear record of the property or site.

The service may be different, but the principle remains the same:

Get the survey right from the beginning.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide independent, accurate and professional surveying that gives homeowners, businesses, contractors and network providers the information they need to make informed decisions.

From a homeowner considering renewable energy to a contractor preparing a major fibre build, every survey is approached with the same commitment to accuracy, clarity and quality.
